The answer is no. The reason is because first-generation hardware can be buggy (Sony has a bad track record there), so why not chill and wait a bit. There's plenty of good games on the older systems.

Yes its worth $600 and then some. It costs Sony about $800 to make 1 PS3 so buying one for $600 is almost a bargain. The only reason it costs alot is due to the Blu-Ray drive, which by itself is worth $300. Think of the PS3 as a cheap Blu-Ray player that can also play games.

yes they are but the exspensive part about it is that the games cost $60. so if you bought the system and the 3 games that will be $780. oh by the way dont believe the first answer because i know all about gaming systems especially new ones

No way its a ripoff what they are selling these systems for now these days. id wait a little while till the price comes down and all the defects are worked out like with previous ps systems
