(I hate it when people ask this, but oh well.)
I am auditioning for Brigadoon soon, as the part of Meg (the slutty alto who goes after the main guy's best friend). I'm an alto. The highest note Meg sings is a C. I need a song that is the style of Brigadoon, but I can't find one that's not overdone. I was thinking of "Gorgeous" from the Apple Tree, but I don't know if that's the style. Any ideas?

"How Are Things in Glocca Mora?" from Finian's Rainbow.
"Glitter and Be Gay" from Candide.

Since Meg's song (Me Mother's Weddin' Day) is a comic song, you might want to try Ado Annie's "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No," from Oklahoma. The Senitiment sort of fits Meg as well.

I recommend singing another song by Lerner and Loewe. How about "Just You Wait" from My Fair Lady?
