Recently my leopard gecko died....really suddenly.
I had only been gone 2 days camping with my family and when I got back I saw my leopard geckos tail was black.
She was barely moving and not eating so I was hand feeding her chicken baby food because thats what the vet told my friend to do when her leopard gecko wasnt eating. So the next day she was dead....anyone know what happened???

It's also possible that she could have had something trapped in her airway. Maybe a peice of food stuck in her lung. The blackness of her tail might have been signifying a loss of oxygen much in the same way that a humans fingers and toes will turn blue. Other possibilities could be disease- it could have even been genetic. No way to tell without having a verterinarian examine the carcass and even then we know a lot less about animal health than human health.

Could she have gotten ahold of a toxic bug? I had a bearded dragon that got ahold of a firefly, was dead the next day. he was really old, but I looked it up and sure as the day is long, the firefly is toxic to reptiles.

Reptils die couse people wanna them and they are not responsible about caring them ...
....People wanna reptils as pets and they do not know how to feed them !
People wanna reptils and they do not know they need vitamins....uva ( 12 hs a day ), and a perfect enviroment to feel freedoom....
Reptils are only for people who is responsible....
...people who know their illness and their correct feeding....
Reptils need going to vets always !
Please do not buy another one....or if you bought another one, just search information on web sites......
Reptils die in the hand´s humans...just couse we think they do not need anything to be ok !
