We trimmed a lot off of our tree tonight, and I want to make a wreath in the morning. Should I just stick them in a sink full of water?

Water will do until you put them in a wreath. The best way to extend their usefulness is to spray them with an antidessicant like WiltPruf (or Wilt Stop by Bonide). The directions are on the bottle. It coats the needles and makes a water proof barrier to prevent water from leaving the needles. It's not bullet-proof but it will easily double the life of a wreath. You can purchase antidessicants at most L&G Centers. Call around.
