Does anyone know if my car (1995 Olds. Achieva, 3.1 V6 OHV 12 valve, Front-Wheel Drive) have a fail-safe cooling system? Over the past summer, I went to diagnose my radiator fan motor. To access that, I had to drain the coolant, remove radiator hoses, disconnect the high-pressure line of the A/C that connects to the condenser, and disconnect the ground of the fan relay. And Last, I disconnect the pigtail wire which leads from somewhere in the engine, possibly the PCM or Coolant sending unit. I don't know, for some reason, I just went to start the car and the car wouldn't start whatsoever. There was no cranking sound. The point is, do my car have a fail-safe cooling system? Or does the pigtail wire, fan relay ground, and coolant sending unit have anything to do with restricting current to the starter? This was tried out before I put back all the coolant, high-pressure line and fan motor together. Anyone with an ASE background or know a lot about cars is welcome to answer my question.

Put it back together the way you took it apart and then submit your question. If certain sensors are unplugged the car won't start. And Double check your battery connections. Look for anywire that may have fallen off. You did disconnect the battery didn't you?
You always disconnect the battery Before you you touch anything electrical. Unless you need current to test it.

whtsths=jackass. OK, well, an ASE mechanic will be able to give you a vague answer and may even point you in the wrong direction. You need some answers from some real mechanics. It sounds like, when you disconnected the relay, you may have also pulled out a relay or fuse in the power box that controls the selinoid or ignition switch master power. I firmly believe that you disarranged something in that power distribution box. Check that as well as your wiring going to your starter. Make sure that the starter selinoid wire didn't get pulled away. Good luck.

no it doesnt but you prob unpluged something that u shouldnt have recheck all your conection and mack sure your battery is tight. 9 times out of 10 if you dont know anything about the kind of cars out there you really shouldnt touch them because when you refill that radiater with fluid and you have to bleed this system and if you dont get all the air out you will know it you will hear it and those 3.1 easily blow head gasketts and air intake gasketts so when you get it running if you hear the engine making a boiling noise shut it of and bleed it
