1) retire and live off pension or social security;
2) live in a barter-based community;
3) be a non-working spouse or child;
4) collect disability or unemployment insurance;
5) win the lotto;
6) join a nunery or monastery;
7) become a public charge

This isn't my area of expertise, but I'm sure there are plenty more ways in which people survive without jobs. Is that what you want to do?

Government programs like food stamps I guess. I know where your coming from though. My husband and I both worked at a factory and we both just got layed off. We are only drawing 200.00 between the both of us from unemployment and I be ****** if we go back on food stamps just to survive!

If you have no pride you can get soc. sec. However, there are plenty of jobs out there especially at this time of year.
