i did that at my work once. someone left their wallet next to the restroom sink and I found it and returned it to them as they were leaving the restroom.
It had a lot of money in it. Some people said that I should have kept it and others say that I did the right thing. It felt good to do the right thing. No matter who you are, you should always do the right things in life.

It wasn't that much, only $300, but it was 40+ years ago. I found the guy and gave it back. He acted like I'd done something wrong. Was sorry ever after that I'd done the right thing IN THAT PARTICULAR CASE, not in general. Do what's right, it feels better.

Take my family on a good vacation.
I have lost money and wallet more than once in the past, NEVER got back the wallet or even one dime!!
The harsh reality of life. Keep it or loose it.
When lost, it does not come back.

Mail it to them. I found a wallet outside the drive through at my bank (it had a Visa credit card inside); I gave it to the teller. Remember, God is "always" watching... even when we're not.

Contact the person and give the money back. Our true character is what we are when no one is looking, and I want to look at myself in the mirror and feel good about the way I treat others.

turn it in to the sherrif.
do unto others what you would have them do unto you.
if you keep it, it is stealing
you didnt earn it, you didnt recieve it as a gift, and you didnt deserve it.
turn it in.
and sometimes, when an owner is not found, they will give it back to you. or the owner will reward you for your integrity, and honesty.
but even if they do not reward you.
you will be rewarded in character as a person.
you are doing the right thing.

I'd give it back with all the money. What comes around goes around & if I kept it I don't think I'd be able to sleep

Return it. I have done so in the past, more than once--not with $1,000 in the purse or pocketbook, but with money nonetheless.
