If you were to give someone a gift card?

How would you package it? Do you give them in envelopes or do you put them in a box and then wrap that?

put it in a small Christmas stocking.....or get a Christmas mug and put it inside with a package of hot chocolate and wrap the whole thing with clear film and bows and candy canes

Cinnamon, I always give gift cards and even though they come in the little envelopes, I always package them in cute little gift bags with tissue. Presentation is the best part of the gift. I do admit that I recycle the gift bags (as long as it doesn't have writing or other stuff on it). I add a little ribbon that's already curled and it looks as if I'm giving a couple hundred bucks. People are really excited when they see the package and find the gift card inside.

For my boys, I did one huge box and wrapped it in Hallmark Christmas wrap, wide ribbon and encased in tissue inside the box. I did this because they'd caught on to the "bag" and knew what was inside. With the box all wrapped up cozy and cute, they had no clue. :)

I hate give gift cards, but sometimes it's the only thing I can get. So I like to wrap the card in a box, so it seems more like a present. Depending on who it's for, I might wrap it in an odd box (like an old "Turbo Tax" software box), so they're like, "What the heck?" when they open it. You could also wrap it in a box. Then wrap that in a bigger box, etc. That's always fun to watch them open.

It's funny you ask. I was just looking through a sales add. At Walgreens, probably other stores too, but anyway. At Walgreens that have cute Christmas Gift Card holders like snowmen, santas, reindeer, elves, and such for $1.99 WOW! I didn't even know they existed. They hold the card in their hands. It's so adorable! But you could slip it in a stocking, or in with their Christmas card, or buy a mini envelope (like the little blank thank you cards) and put it in there. Or you could even be creative with it. Just tie a ribbon around it and but a bow on it.

it depends on the situation.

small party or one on one: put it in a card (generally funny)

big family gathering: I put it in a card inside a wrapped box. Less chance of getting lost or thrown out in the trash.

for truly nosey teens that shake boxes: i wrap the card in a box and put something else in there to add weight. This year it was a individual size can of Beanee Weenies. LOL>

There are two ways that I have seen.
1) Put it in a big envolope, hole punch it, label it, and hang it.
2) Get a box, fill it half way stirofoam, throw the card in, fill it up to the top, and give-away.

well, at some places, they wrap it for you. either wrap it without putting it in anything, or get a really cute small present bag. there's a ton of cute things you could find. go to walmart or fred meyer or something in the present/cards section. hope this helps:)
