I don't know which one to pick. I am 36 weeks pregnant and can't decide on which one is more important to me. one hospital have good nurse that treat you with respect, but the rooms not all that(you have to share, only 3 people limited in the room for delivery, only 2 people at a time after you have the baby can visit, visitation stops at 9pm)

The other hospital have nice private rooms, don't matter how many people in the room for delivery, you can labor in a tub that have jets in there, visitors can come see you 24 hours. The nurse attitude stinks. What should I do? The first hospital is 8 miles away from my house, 2nd hospital 4 miles from my house.

Howw do I know the nurses attitude stinks I was just in there 2 weeks ago for false labor, and trust me out of 4 nurses only 1 was very nice to me their. They was talking aboutt my midwife in a bad way which I did not like. Bascially that's my experience. I did not want to go in the demanding the way I want things but it seems like I will.

I would go for the private room...the nurse's attitude may stink, but your's probably will too when the time comes...lol. If she's bitchy with you, just be bitchy back. But how do you know that your nurse's attitude stinks in the first place? I didn't get to know my nurse before I had my son.

I would choose comfort...it can be a long and hard process, and any comforting things (like privacy and a bathtub) will help.

Well the second one doesnt really sound realistic in some aspects. There is no way that there are an unlimited amount of people allowed in the delivery room. They limit the amount of people for a reason..too many people can be dangerous. Also, I doubt all visitors can come see you 24 hours a day. Maybe the father of the baby but that's probably it. Nurses need time to care for their patients and they can't do that with constant visitors. Not only that but you need your rest as well.

Personally I would go somewhere where the nurses treat you great and there are "rules". It's safer for you and your baby that standards be set in the unit.

Good luck.

Ohhh tough one. I would probably go with the nice hospital with the good rooms. Mostly because I refuse to believe that every nurse there has a bad attitude (I'm a nurse, so i know there are bad seeds but, most of us are nice and competent!!). If you end up with a nurse you don't like you have every right to request another. I'm confident that there will be one there that will work well with you. Good luck and have a safe (and painless) labor and delivery!!

Tough choice. Are you sure all the nurses at the second hospital are like that? Maybe you could hope for a different nurse. Personally I'd have to take the private room because I don't think I could be comfortable with other people (strangers) laboring near me.

I would go for the second because you never know they might have a nice nurse on duty! I don't know how many people you want in the room but if more than the first allows . pick the other hospital. Maybe the rep it has got is not quite true. I would pick the other.

look. when you are unable to get up for the few hours after birth, or days depending on virsion of birth nothing beats a good nurse. I would stongly suggest you give up your privacy and get a good nurse. You dont want to be laying there in pain for an hour still waitng on your tylonol, or trying to get an extra maxi pad, waiting upwards of a few hours just to get that!!! just rememebr, you'll have friends and family there(hopefully) to help you out, but the nurses can do the things your family cant, so having a good one on hand to help with the baby is also a belssing, and a must have. Good luck!

i think i like the hospital thats 4 miles away. u don't have to take the nurses' crap, u r the customer. u have rights as a patients.they have no right to treat u bad. when u r there just speak up and demand the treatment u deserve.

when i had my son i had my private room/bath. visiting hours until 8pm, babys father and grandparents were able to visit 24 hours. my husband was able to spend the night in the room with me. my son was able to stay in the room with me.

Hi:

It seems like nurses that treat you with respect is very important to you. Because of that, I would chose that hospital. I know I remember how people treat me long before I remember the surrounding circumstances because how I am treated is important to me.

Best of luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!
