Do what feels right in your heart. Don't worry about what anyone tells you. Listen to her and your Mama instincts and you will know what to do. Don't worry about books, experts, advice, or warnings about what life will be like later. Your heart is the best thing to tell you how to be a mom .

actually, ive heard that it is bad for the baby to let them cry it out. it could be emotionally damaging. i wouldnt do it again. if your baby is having a hard time falling asleep at night here are some other things you can try:
1. make a bedtime routine and always follow it (Ex: snack, bath, read a book, then sleep) 2. About an hour before bed time, make it quiet time, do calm activities with her like reading a book or coloring, anything quiet, i know this can be hard sometimes with toddlers, but give it a try and see if it helps 3. give the baby a warm bath, and while giving the bath talk in a quiet, calm soothing voice. maybe even singing to them. 4. play some lullabye music when you lay her down.

If she wakes up again, you need to go check on her. If all is well, put her back down to sleep, and have her cry it out again. But if she wakes up and cries, you have to see if there is a reason for the crying first.

I'd wait 5, if not 10 minutes before going in. She might fall back asleep on her own. Only you know how long you can wait before going in. Just check on her, fix her blankets, tell her you love her and leave...Keep lights and contact to a minimum. Then wait a little longer the next time you go in and so-on. Good Luck !

Comfort her - she's one year old and alone in her room and still needs her mommy, and if her mommy doesn't come to her when she does the crying bit, she will be very frightened. It is one thing to let the kid just keep crying when all else fails, they do that sometimes, but this is quite another thing. It is way, way too early to expect her to be comfortable away from her mother.

When I know there is nothing wrong with my son (3 months) We let him cry.. Every few minutes one of us walks to his crib to check on him, and let him know that we are there.. Sometimes they just need to let it out.. It's not bad for them either, it helps the lungs
