There is such a thing, it is called hysterical pregnancy. The medical name for it is Pseudocyesis. Pseudocyesis, also known as false pregnancy, can cause many of the signs and symptoms associated with pregnancy, and can resemble the condition in every way except for fetal presence. The hallmark sign of pseudocyesis that is common to all cases is that the affected patient is convinced that she is pregnant.

It used to be called an hysterical pregnancy, its causes are emotional and/or mental. Not saying the person is crazy, but usually is someone who wants a baby real bad and isnt getting that. Then somehow they convinve theirself that they are pregnant, and the body starts to produce the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. Big belly, lack of menstrual periods, cravings, nausea, colostrum/milk, etc, some will even feel movement...I dont know if there is a new name for this, but you can look it up on google or maybe wikipedia, many diseases/illness have new names from what they had many years ago.

The term is hysterical pregnancy or Pseudocyesis. The symptoms are the same as a regular pregnancy but, with no child in the womb being present. You can start producing milk, stomach swells, morning sickness, etc. It can be caused by a very strong desire to be pregnant or even being too fearful of becoming pregnant. I also seen that episode of CSI and it was interesting. The victim in that episode was a victim of incest and one of the Pseudocyesis theories is that emotional conflict can cause this condition and that incest victims are at high risk of this condition.

I saw that show a few years back, but i think i saw it on "Law and Order", in any case it was bizzar. this blond girl leakin milk, having pains, the whole 9 yards. I think there is an actual condition, but i think it has to do with hormones being way off. It is very rare, but im sure it;s got to exhist. Google it. there are many tests docs can do now to see if you are really prego or whats up. Odd condition.

I remember that episode. I don't know if there is a real disease like that--in that episode the girl had convinced herself she was pregnant and that is why her body reacted as it did

Honestly your mind is a powerful thing. If you some how convince yourself that your pregnant your body will react to it.
