when u want to find what the equation is equaled to... basically u r trying to find the x-value.... since, it is the inequality, therefore, u can't bring 10 to the left side and factor it... (thats what many people do!!) well, 3x-8>10
add 8 to both sides...that will result in
3x>18
then divide both sides by 3... that will result in..
x>6

It's an inequality, so you wil not have anything equal to x. You'll have an answer that says x is greater than something.
1. Add 8 to both sides.
2. Divide both sides by 3.
3. You'll have your answer.

just pretend that sign is a equal sign and just answer it. add 8 to 10...then divide by 3. it will show that x is greater that whatever #.
