Raise funds to support a candidate,to pay for advertising to get the message out to the people.
A political action committee (PAC) is a group of people to promote a specific agenda (Stop Smoking for example) raise funds to promote advertising to stop smoking,they may also contribute to candidates who take a stand in their favor.
