Use a cool mist vaporizer-it can help open up passageways better. Also use saline nose drops-they are totally safe for any age.

Pretty much nothing, except some cold tyleno. The Doctor won't even brave enough to give the child the cold-flu tyleno and get sued by you. So, you are pretty much stuck. If the child gets really bad and has a fever, then bring her/him to the emergency room. They will give the child some IV ( keep in mind that they may not find any vein on the child's arms or legs, and with the bad/inexperience nurses, they can stick and "sew " the child's arms until they can find the vein. Maybe you can give the child warm bath for 10 min to cool him/her down before consider the emergency room.

At 1 month of age there is not much you can do except to make sure he is by a humidifire at all times. If he seems to get too congested then take him to his pediatrician.Besides that there is not much you can do.Oh and sunction his nose out alot.use sterile water just a drop or two in each nostril.

Saline drops or breastmilk up the nose, and in eyes --if needed. (Saline is antibacterial, breastmilk will also kill viruses.
A nasal aspirator.
Take him in the bathroom when you take hot showers.
Tummy time helps the snot drain
Prop the crib/bed up so he can sleep on an incline.
Petroleum Jelly on the nose/upper lip to stop snot from sticking and loosen anything there.
Skin to Skin contact will help to regulate body temperature.
Humidifier.
DO NOT put menthol products on his skin, you can put a small amount in a humidifier or just near him.

not much. take him to the doc if its his first one to be on the safe side. monitor him for high fever, allow him to rest, give him fluid as age appropriate. don't let the doc give him antibiotics unless he can prove to you that the babies illness is bacterial in nature. Usually colds, the flu, most coughs, and sore throats are caused by viruses and antibiotics are useless here. docs will prescribe them b/c they know most people want to leave their office w/a prescription

Please get him to a doctor!!Babies that young cannot cough up their saliva that tends to build up in the throat when you have a cold, not being able to do this can block his airway!

Make sure he stays hydrated, also try the little noses spray we loved that for our little one when she was sick. A humidifier in his room may make it more comfortable for him while he sleeps.
