The refrigerator is no different from the air conditioner. They both have heat sinks, compressors and condensers that are used to cause a temperature change. The only difference is that with a refrigerator, the cold side of the system is sealed inside an insulated box and the hot air is ventilated into the room (or outside). With an air conditioner, your house becomes the "insulated box" and the heated air goes outside.
So, the reason that an open door will not make the room colder is because the hot side is not separated from the cold side and hot + cold
= warm, so the temperature never changes.

I have never put that question to the test.Have you? In order to answer that question you would have to read the room temperature before you open the refrigerator and keep the refrigerator door open for who knows how long and make sure the outside temperature does not fall or rise a degree and see if the refrigerator temperature mixes with the room temperature and causes it to decrease.Im bored in life but I aint that bored.

The other guy gave a good explanation about the heating coils giving off more heat, etc. Think of the room and everything in it as a system. The refrigerator isn't moving heat energy out of the system; it just moves around in the room.
If you mean to ask, why doesn't the room get colder when you open the door (and the cold air escapes to the room), it does, but the difference isn't noticable. It's the same concept as not seeing level in a pool rise because someone pees in it.

A refrigerator is a heat mover. So what makes the inside cold is that it takes all the heat that is inside the fridge and moves it out into the room. So if you leave the door open, the inside of the fridge is now part of the room and the heat is just being moved around the room basically, so the room doesnt get any hotter or colder.
