Not without doing some frame work and probably making your own motor mounts... you're talking about putting a big block in a vehicle that was intended for a small block.

Check with Mr. Goodwrench parts. You should be able to buy motor mounts and other components to easily fit the big block. The 454 came in 1500's a few years ago. Remember, your engine is going to produce awesome torque and horsepower so make sure all the components in the drive train are super strong and well supported or you'll have a real problem..

I think you need to ask this question again, and state what year pickup you're talking about.

I don't know that you'd need welders and hammers, but it would be (as **ANY** engine swap is) a hell of a lot of work.

Even as late as this year, they are still selling the **old** (meaning 1999-2006) bodystyle Chevy/GMC as the 2007 "Silverado Classic" and "Sierra Classic".

Still available (but not on the all-new design 2007 trucks) is the 8.1L (496 cubic inches) Big Block V8. This is only available on the 3500-series trucks.

These trucks (3500) have the same body and engine compartment as the 1500 series, so what's the huge challenge? These other guys are making it sound like you'd have to cut the firewall and re-weld it.....

To those who say you need a welder, please justify....

your gonna need a welder and to make your own motor mounts, or maybe you can find an aftermarket kit.
