i have two images and I am using the lasso tool

but after using the tool I can't get the image I want onto the other image, it always show the outline I have done

can someone help me a little? my first time using it

Once you lasso the part you want to transfer go to the menu and select Edit>Copy.. Then click on the other image and select Edit>Paste and it should drop the cutout into the other image.

One tip for future use. If you are using jpeg or gif images in photoshop you are better of working with them in psd format. You can convert the files to psd simply by Selecting All (Ctrl-A) and the copying (Ctrl-C) then opening an new image (it will be the right size)j and pasting the image into the new window (Ctrl-V) that way the photoshop transparency and layers work correctly when you mess with the image.

I am a good user of Photoshop. But didn't get this type of problem till now. Lasso tool is a selection tool. Remember when u complete the selection the selection should be a closed path and it will show a dotted line as selected portion.

what you have to do is make sure you have the whole object of what you want, them click the move tool and i think that should work i did that the first half of the semester

move the layer with your pasted image to the top on the layer pallet the thing on the right side that says layer one layer two drag the layer with the stuff on top.
