This question is now open to any dancer that has audition for a lengthy competition in a specific area that requires skill ---- Please read the question--- I am asking about try outs also known as auditions-- What did they involved--- Was it expensive-- Were there hotel fees--- Do they always pick the person who seems perfect or is it about spirit and passion ?? I would like to know from experienced people what to expect, look for, and what to know.

I am currently taking bellydance lessons and I'm only on my fourth lesson today but I plan on taking it 'till I'm really good and hopefully even get to perform. It's a good workout for your hips, arms, obliques, butt and arms. I had been meaning to take these lessons since many years back but for some reason kept putting it off. I am finally doing it and I love it. I really enjoy the music and beats too. Taking ballet is always a good basis for any kind of dance and if you take a few lessons and have taken ballet in the past, you'll know what I mean. I recommend it and one other thing it helps you in is learning isolations of muscles (especially your stomach muscles).

Me? Bellydance? NOPE.

I sure like to watch belly dancers though.

Did a google search (for you) and found a website with a forum that might be of interest to you.
