I am going to be applying to vet school in the fall and one of my concerns for picking a school is the board prices for my horse. Right now I am paying $330, and I know in the east it is $1000 or more,
Anyone have a clue about Kansas prices?

I am not looking for specific stables yet and would feel dumb calling them this far in advance. I am just looking for average prices, if anyone knows. It isn't a big deal yet- I will decide when I apply next summer, just was wondering if anyone knew.

I board at Timbercreek and I pay $200/month. They have a website here with prices (they have raised their prices $15 since they last updated their site). They have an indoor arena and a well-lit outdoor arena. I usually use the later b/c it is larger and I allow my boy to run around for a while before I work him.

I just started boarding this month when I adopted my OTTB that was being used for research on campus at the equine treadmill. I saw 2 other ads for places that were from private people looking to take boarders that were asking $75 and $125 each, but they didn't have facilities that I preferred for my horse. I know that there are other stables in the area that you can search for with google ("manhattan ks stables"), many of whom that offer boarding. If you have the money for it I know that you can board with the Equestrian Team for about $400/month.

I don't know where you live right now but I am in North Central Missouri and here it is about 250 to 300 a month... just depending. I know that Ames, Ia has a great vet school and I am thinking the prices around there are the same as here... good luck to you. Happy Holidays
