It has been some years ago since I saw a production at a local community theater. If memory serves me right, it has some family members trying to commit a relative to be institutionalized, for some sort of financial gain. The character is named "Savage" and she is not necessarily crazy but more eccentric and very much liked by the residents of the facility.

Yes, I saw a high school production of it last year. It was very well written, and the characters were very personable. I highly reccomend it. Most plays that take place in mental institutions or places of that sort are unoriginal or too weird for my taste, but this one was down to earth and gripping.
