No it's your paging file. It's a part of the virtual memory system of Windows. Don't delete it , it's normal.
You can adjust the size in
Right Click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Performance Settings -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory.

Hello
The pagefile sys file is a virtual memory file needed by Windows. It can cause a lot of problems if not configured correctly.
Here is a very clear page regarding the optimization of this file and how to safely and intelligently configure it. This information is too complicated to include here in Yahoo Answers. Take a look:
http://www.petri.co.il/pagefile_optimization.htm
;-D You can make your pc run better but you must be careful.

No, its not a virus. It is the page file, also known as virtual memory or a swap file. What it does is when you physical RAM is full it will start to use the hard drive like RAM.
Using the hard drive as RAM is much slower, but you don't need as much physical RAM. But I recommend physical RAM over using the page file. If your computer seems to be using the hard drive a lot, a RAM upgrade will help because the computer is accessing the drive to get to the page file.
