The first thing the Democrat leaders want to do is to show their supporters a federal increase in the minimum wage to $7.25 per hour. Republicans obviously have little objection to that, since state initiatives have been supported by about 80% of the vote. The President has said he will sign such a bill if it contains some protection for small businesses.
After all the shouting is done, those who voted Democrat may realize that, since only about 2% of American workers make less than $7.25 now, their leaders won't be doing much for them at all, except maybe forcing some small businesses to shut down or lay off their people.

It's not about what Democrats WANT. It's about what Democrats need-- and that's to hear from you. Not enough Americans are inputing into government. They need e-mails and phone calls so they don't finish off the destruction that Republicans have done of modern civilization.
Unless Democrats hear from citizens BIG TIME, they will be sucked into the powerful fascist propaganda machine of the Neoconservative Republicans and the planet is finished.

Well keep in mind it was a Democratic congress when we went to war with Iraq. So I wouldn't expect a whole lot of changes.

Short term, the presidency in 08', for the long term, control of the congress for the nest 25 years!! Very long term, the republican party dissolves in lieu of a party dedicated to it's members having sex with trees. A very old Pat Robertson is it's leader.

First they are going to eliminate the "N" word. Then is there no directors children in the way to be drafted, they are going to reinstate the draft. Then they are going to place "NP" in a pedestal, before she can reach actual issues. And the remaining K will try to go for pres. God have mercy on all us.
