I tried taking a cheap test and I didn't really believe it so I bought and EPT. So, next time just go straight for the EPT. I pretty much wasted my money on the first one. And I didn't trust it.

If you read the test in the correct time and the test was not expired it's VERY rare to get a false positive.
You could have had a chemical pregnancy causing the test to show a positive and actually never having proper implantation. It's not quite the same as having a miscarriage but it's close.

No such thing as a false positive on a pregnancy test except in the case of miscarriage - False negative yes, but not positive.

False positives are not likely unless you are taking meds with HCG in it. Dollar store tests are just as good. Some women dont necessarily have a period , but do bleed during pregnancy and are fine. Take another test

go to
http://peeonastick.com/
the woman that hosts the site has tested every brand out there and explains about false positives and whatnot. it's actually a very informative site that is comical as well.
oh, and just a side note... my sister had bleeding that she thought was her period for the first 4 months of her pregnancy - she almost passed out when they told her how far along she was after a sonogram - she was suprised to say the least. a blood test is the only way to know for sure. good luck!

Dollar tree pregnancy tests are not reliable and the incidence of a false positive in a pregnancy test is very low and therefore unlikely,go to your local health department to receive a free pregnancy test that is reliable.

Dollar tree tests are the same as the expensive ones. In fact they measure LESS hCG than some of the name brand ones!

Not sure if I'd trust the results of a test that only cost $1.00... but thats me. You can go to Walmart and buy an EPT for $8.00.

A positive is a positive. If you don't trust it go to a free clinic.
