Jet stream affects the airplane routes. they have to change their routes sometimes, depending on the direction of the jet stream winds. and wind has an impact on the gallons of gas used in cars, when the cars are driving against the winds. then boats in the sea, like fishermans, they risk their lives by going fishing during the sea storms, when their boat flips over. and sometimes in very windy days, trucks and buses flip over too.

I can assure you the wind can wreak havoc on an 18 wheeler! I've had to drive through extremely strong winds, one time, in particular I remember well. I was driving through Iowa and was hauling.....of ALL things.....styrofoam lunch room products!!! That wind was whipping my trailer around terribly! Trust me, the one thing you DON'T want to see when you are a truck driver is your own trailer passing you! I pulled off and took a few hours off while the winds died down. Wind is a factor in just about all forms of transportation in one way or another! Good question!!!!!
