i'm very sorry to hear about your sorrow over your friend's passing. theres not a lot anyone can say to make it feel better right now, and as someone who's never taken a drink but still had the causes of alcoholism as a major cause of pain in my life, i understand your anger.

the thing that always helped me through was being able to know that i can take what is thrown at me and use it to make me stronger. i've never had a drink or taken a drug because i swore i'd never give in to the same weaknesses that caused me to feel that way. maybe you can take whats happened and tell your story to others, or start a foundation in your friend's name to help stop drunk driving, or give scholarships to those who lose a loved one due to drunk driving.

i hope that you can make peace with what happened, and know that you can make something good happen from this, and use the feelings and energy from your situation in a positive light. let your friend's beliefs and spirit live on in you and your actions.

I am so sorry you are in so much pain over the loss of your friend. I can give you a very quick answer to the WHY DID THIS HAPPEN part of your question. God does not "take" people away. To say that is to do God a terrible disservice. He is a God of love and at James 1:13, we are told that "when under trial let no one say 'I am being tried by God,' for with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he hiself try anyone. There are two basic reasons people die... our inherited imperfection (Romas 5:12 says that "through one man (Adam) death entered into the world and death through since, thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." And specifically in your friends case, at Ecclesiastes 9:11, King Solomon said that "time and unforseen occurrences befall us all.

But to bring us hope we have the promise at John 5:28, 29 that al those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus' voice and come out. It's a beautiful promise

I am heartbroken for your loss . As much as your friend meant to you , you meant alot to her and you can bet that she would want you to go on , live and remember her fondly , but keep going . It is hard to lose someone you care for , I have lost alot of relatives and friends . Be strong . Think about this , and it may be hard to realize : the dead know only one thing , it is better to be alive ... Remember her , keep her in your heart and give other people a chance to "measure up " ... Good luck , and God be with you .
