Isn't it cheep (not cheep as in small amount of money, cheep as in cheating) for companies to count the incoming messages towards your maximum? I guess they wouldn't care :(

Most of the time it is outgoing and incoming. If you don't open the text then it doesn't count.

Actually, on a lot of phones, if someone texts YOU, it will deduct from your 200 text messages. If there is anyway to decline messages, not that I know, but I really don't think there is. You can call your cell phone provider and ask then those questions. Or if your phone is carried and sold at a Radio Shack store, most likely they'll have more information on how to use your text messaging features.

Definitely depends on your provider. Call them and ask all these questions.

As for Cingular, the 200 counts BOTH incoming and outgoing.

The only way to decline text messages is to call your provider and tell them to turn that feature off.

I believe that all depends on your supplier. I deal with a company called Rogers and I recieve all text messages at no cost, but am to pay for all outgoing texts. Hope this helps. As far as not accepting incoming texts I don't know if that is possible, you could try to delete them rather than opening to read them, but I don't know if that'll work.

Hi I work for Sprint. I don't really know about anyother company, but as far as Sprint, Yes it does count against your 200. And for blocking incoming Sprint does have that you just have to ask. Um I also know that for alltel because that is my phone company, if you don't have either one of them you should call yours up and ask. I'm pretty sure that they all have to have the ablity to block. Oh and with sprint it don;t mattr if you open it or not, if it's sent to your phone then you get charged

incoming msgs are not counted for the free 200 msgs most often. so not to worry. on the blocking thing you can't block someone sending a txt.

Incoming texts do count against your number. I don't know about not accepting them. I know you can challenge them when you get your bill.
