I'd probably care if I weren't from Houston. For some reason the rest of Texas seems to think Houston is not really a Texan place. When I went to college in a small Texas town, there was a sign on the wall of a restaurant that said, "Life's too short to live in Houston." All the small-town people said "Oh, you're from Houston, you're not REALLY a Texan."
Ignore the shows. They only show the ignorance of the writers. Besides, there are worse things to be said about Texas. Like how our state was the first to execute a female (which happened in that small town I mentioned my first year there).

those that believe the way you say are many, but they are the same ones that take from Texas and give little back. Texas can do with out them, but they cant do with out Texas. the gas they heat their homes with, the fuel they put in their over priced autos all is refined in Texas. you ever hear the song "Freeze a Yankee" ?get a copy load it up and LOL.its so easy for little weenie states to mouth off when they cant find a tree to wipe their butts on. from a Texas cattle raiser and a few camels

Yeah I think it's BS but it's not as bad as how they make ppl from WV look. It's always trailer parks and ppl w/ no teeth..lol I don't live in a trailer park and I have all my teeth!!!!! And we don't sleep w/ our cousins and our brother is not also our uncle or anything crazy like that!!!!!!! and we don't look like or act like those ppl from that movie "Wrong Turn". just to clear that up!! I do say y'all sometimes tho and ppl from different parts of the state actually say stuff about my accent. You don't realize you even have one til you go somewhere else. When I talk to my friend on the phone that lives 2 hrs away, I think she has an accent.
GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOTY WOOOOOOT!

Well speaking on behalf of those of us from Alabama, most television shows make you guys look downright respectable compared to us! You're probably too young to remember the movie "Deliverance" huh.......
