My Maytag washing machine has minor leakage from the gap between th hinged top and the side panels of the washing machine. I have removed the front panel and hinged the top open. I have examined the water fill hose that fills the tub, but I can't tell if the hose has a crack in it or not. How can I tell where the leak is coming from? How easy is it to replace this hose? Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you might need some new hose washers. You may also have damaged threads on either the hose connections or on the hose bibb. Hoses have compression fittings, so to keep them from leaking, they need something (the hose washer) to compress. BTW, I highly recommend the hoses that have a braided metal covering -- they're less likely to blow out than plain rubber/vinyl hoses. They also make gadgets that will turn off the water if they sense a broken hose, or alarms that will ring if the alarm gets wet. All of them are good insurance against some really messy and expensive damage.

The water injector is probably the problem. Follow the hose back from the tub until you come to a gap in the hoses, this is where the injector is. Remove the clamp closest to the front of the machine and remove the small rubber tube and plastic inside. replace this part.
