Get him a gift certificate to the home center where you would buy a lawnmower. He will get the pleasure of picking one out himself or using it for something else and then he will have to buy his own mower in the spring. (assuming it is winter where you are now).
A weedeater is a much better gift than a mower anyway. I'm not sure why, they just are.

I'm thinking he's going to buy a lawnmower anyway. Probably before Christmas. I'd come up with a plan B.
Maybe buy him something he wants. =)

I see you have a variety of opinions. Quite possibly confusing you.
Here's what I think. You know your husband better than anybody. Will he pout if he doesn't get what he wants? Maybe a new lawn mower is exactly what he would like?
I personally like stuff like that. Christmas isn't all about receiving gifts. He'll like whatever you give him.

My husband actually bought me a lawn mower for Christmas one year and I was tickled pink. Of course I'm a very practical person and love getting presents that make my work a little easier. If he is a do-it-yourself-er he will probably love it. If not get him something personal and buy the lawnmower as a family present.

can't rather answer this one without understanding if the engine is a 2 or 4 stroke. If 4 stroke, do not upload engine oil to the gasoline. The cap on the gasoline tank has one or extra little holes contained in the right. confirm they are not blocked with the help of dirt. this can reason the mower to end. There are also different motives, yet without understanding even if the engine a 2 or 4 stroke, i will not help you a lot.

Would you like him to get you a ladder (if that is something you would also need for the house)? I wouldn't. I think I'd stick with the things he wants and maybe after you get your income tax back, go together and get the lawn mower and whatever else you might want or need for your new home.

Well, how would you feel if he gave you a dishwasher for Christmas? If he wants a lawnmower, and has said so, then yes. But just to get him one out of the blue, may not be well received.

only if that's what he really wants or you both decide to get pratical presents for each other. Either make a deal where you both get stuff like that or get him something he would like. some guys would love a new mower - depends on the guy. But if you're not prepared to get a gift of the same ilk then don't as it isn't fair.

No, its not bad if thats what you both need. But I'd also get him something small as a supplement to the lawnmower like a cd or a book he wants.

God, my ex-husband would have been THRILLED if I or anyone else had bought him a lawn mower for Christmas! If you can afford it, I would say yes, for certain!

That's cool. I'd get him something fun for him too, though, even if it is something small, like a DVD or a CD he'd like.
