There's a guy who I see almost every week, who is what is called a "street" person who has mental problems, is an alcoholic and usually begs for a living. I once took him to hospital because he'd slit his wrist and was sat on the pavement still begging. A $1000 could alter this guy's life beyond all comprehension - if he had the help to not drink it. In a situation like that all the money in the world is no good - unless you have high quality social services in place to help such people in the first place.

Oprah Winfrey is a multi-millionaire. A $1000 is what she probably spends on a dress. For someone like her to ask a question like this is an insult to people who are in genuine need. What she should be asking is: - Why, when we live in one of the richest societies on the planet, can a mere $1000 turn anyones life around and why are the poor still with us?

Ask that to the family that can't afford to provide gifts to their children or have a decent holiday meal if it would change their lives.

I agree, money isn't what it's all about, but a little bit like $1000 can make a huge difference in a childs life. It teaches them compassion. Small price to pay for such an amazing trait.

To even someone with a middle-class life, it wouldn't be much. A million dollars maybe...
I think that's why in TV shows they only give the money to poor or disabled people - they would be able to appreciate it more.
And, of course, they would make getting a TV a higher priority, thus with the ability to watch cable, send Oprah's ego sky rocketing.

Why is this in faith and spirituality? nicely, I completely disagree with Oprah and her new little "religious" management ingredient that she has going. She's large with makeup and hair and much less of a frontrunner in weight-loss and spiritual learn. She knows no longer something of religious historic previous, theology and has no longer met or talked to or interviewed any Christian missionaries that i comprehend of. yet, she has handed judgment on the church and claims to nicely known her very own certainty. She's made up a human atheistic form of religion for persons to stay with consistent along with her action picture star status. She's incredibly made an idol of herself for persons to stay with and alot of persons basically go alongside. it quite is a shame. i do no longer think of a good number of Oprah. it incredibly is why she irritates me. She makes use of her action picture star status to act as an expert on issues she has NO know-how approximately and has no longer studied sufficiently.

If you have NOTHING, NOTHING at all, then it could be difference between life and death. I would donate it to an African charity, they seem to be in most need of cash just now. Or to the cause that is trying to abolish third world debt.

Sadly, yes, I think life is about money. To eat, you need money, to have a house, you need money, to pay bills, you need money - see where I am going with this?

I think it would change someone's life for that one day. Especially if that someone really need money for clothes, food, place to live. But it won't change his/her life forever I think..

A thousand bucks may pay someone's bills and buy groceries for a month but it sure the hell won't change someone's life.

Of course 1,000.00 could change someone's life.

You should have seen the results show where she showed what the ppl did with the money.

No, life is not all about money, but that is what we use in the world to operate and survive, so of course it can make a difference.
