That must mean they think your irresponsible, just have patience. A few years later and i'm sure they'll buy you one.

Try getting a prepaid phone instead. You will have to buy your own minutes but their just as good. You could choose from T-mobile, and Cingular, and a few others. You can go right to your local store such as Target, Walmart, etc..... They also have really nice looking phones too if you try T-mobile or Cingular. Your parents probably don't want to pay for a cell phone bill that may get out of hand if they got you one. If it makes you feel any better I never had a cell phone until after high school. That was 8 years ago, but cell phones weren't the big main attraction in my school then. If you really want to have your own cell phone then I suggest you getting a part time job so that you can have your own money to get your own service for a cell phone or buy one that's prepaid.

This is a response from a parent so you may not read it, but why do your parents not let you get a cell phone? More info from you is necessary to properly answer your question. You do not have an inalienable "right" to get a cell phone even though you may want one. Your parents may have considered their "no" from many aspects. If you are employed and intend to pay for it yourself, that's one thing, but if you expect them to pay for it and your usage of it, that's another thing. Do you still live with your parents and are they still paying your bills, i.e., for food, clothing, etc. Does your mother do your laundry, cook your meals, etc., and maybe also work outside the home?

my sister set a goal with them. think of something you dont do that you should do and make sure it will please your parents. tell them that you will do whatever it is for a while and if you meat that goal then you get a phone. and the higher the task, and longer, the better the phone. adn tell them to start off with the plan where you cant talk till 7 and no text. tell them that they shold try it like that for a month and if you are responsiable and need more then they can up your minuetes and give you text.. and they will feel a little better if you do some research for CHEAP phones probably

well will you be helping pay for this cell phone? you could ask them if you helped to pay some on the bill would they maybe consider it. you could babysit or mow yards or whatever. there is cell phones that you can buy that all you have to do is put minutes on it and there is no monthly bill. these are called track phones.that might be your only option right now.

deal with it, whining will get you absolutely no where. also saying "oo look so-in-so has one!" will most definately not care abotu so-in-so. The best thing to do if u want to protest is use your home phone alot. If you already do that, bump up the use. if this doesnt work, well it seems you may just have to wait. thankfully there are many other forms of communication such as IM, email, actual mail and...i think there are other things....like....morse code or something......o well good luck! you'll need it

Maybe they read the article in either Popular Science or Popular Mechanics stating that a study was conducted which revealed that cel phone use causes protein leaks in the brain. Not good.
