I enjoy cute as a look the most, and so, tiny and cute is ultra cute, to me anyways. And your pic is cute. My last was 5'1"! So, before you go to bed tonight, stand in front of the mirror and say, "I AM ultra-cute" one-hundred times, and when you wake up tomorrow, you will know you are "ultra"-cute. Or, just skip the mirror routine and just be ultra cute. Ya gotta trust me, I know cute. How tall ARE you? I gotta know, please? If your confidence wasn't so low, I'd probably ask you to email me, because SOME say I am also, "ultra-cute" Your pal, Brendan

PLEASE FORGIVE MY UNDERSTANDING OF CUTE COMPARED TO OTHERS HERE!!!

My ex, looked just like the young Marisa Tomei, beautiful, but didn't feel the need to dress with "glamour", cute. The one I dated before this, looked just like the young Alyssa Milanno (the movie-star thing is just a conicidence-but very true) she was beautiful too, and also dressed without "glamour." Also, if you look at pictures of Alyssa Milanno, when not prepared or made to dress for some "glamorous" event, she dresses casually-and so, her beauty is ultra-cute. I can even tell you that when I visited an Indian Matrimonial site, I plugged into my search for prospects>>. height 4'6" to 5'2" , but I am 5'8", because, I like cute. I think I may have a different concept of cute than others then, because I saw a picture Alyssa Milanno in a hockey outfit, and although she is extremely beautiful, I find her to be, in this picture, "ultra-cute". So shoot me. Or at least try to.

The stereotype for beautiful has always been decided by the fashion world. This week Spain took a big step by declining young women to model who were under a certain weight. That was monstrumental for the idealism of beauty because all of these women who have decided to starve themselves for all these years are now finally realizing that there is an unrealistic standard of beauty set by the fashion/entertainment industry. So, I guess my point is whether tall, short thick or thin being asked to model is not the only way that you should know that you are beautiful. Unfortunately there are plenty of women who are incredibly beautiful that dont fit that mold. And if Spain hadnt taken a stand this year then more women who dont fit what they saw on tv would be questioning whether they could possibly be beautiful. You could MODEL SOMETHING!!!!! Dont mistake it, there is a piece of clothing or a look that goes with EVERY body type. We are all beautiful....

Considered beautiful by who? The modelling agencies? Short does not equal ugly, its just a stereotype that models are always tall, maybe because they would be the only ones who can get away with wearing some of those awful things they have to wear on the catwalk without making the designers look silly...

Short people are beautiful... don't let marketing get in the way of your self esteem...

someone long ago decided that tall thin models where preferred for photo shoots/ runway modeling/ magazines/etc. This could have been some stuck up photographer who thought their sh#t doesn't stink who did this... not all photographers are stuck up by the way (so no negatives!)

Things are changing anyway where models are all heights... look at cutesy Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes... they are relatively short (he certainly is) and people think they are the greatest!

I used to do modeling 7 years ago and went to school part time. I'm 5'7" and got so much crap because I wasn't tall enough that I decided to just quit and finish my education rather than having a "model" title but stay shallow and feel miserable over 2 inches of height.
You sure don't have to be a model type to be beautiful. In fact most Hollywood stars are not tall!

I too am a bit on the short side.

I think that short is better on an everday basis but the clothing that fashion designers create is for a basic size and it would cost too much money to create catwalk collections for every different model if they were all different sizes.

In other words, you must be at least 5 8" and very thin to even fit into the clothes that models wear!

I do not think that models always have been tall. Well, models perhaps, but the idea of beauty has not always focused on tall women. Geisha were often very small women, as the diminutive aspect was considered the ideal feminine beauty, as a contrast to men. I think the idea today stems from our idea of thin as beautiful, a tall thin woman looks much thinner than a short thin woman.

Its not that short ppl arent considered beautiful.
In most modeling, esp. Runway models are selected to be thin and tall b/c thats what designers feel show off their clothes the best. (on super skinny girls clothes "HANG")
Im 5'51/2 and Im considered short in the modeling world. Thats just how it is.
But the modeling world def. should NOT define beauty....everyday gurls do!!!

Nobody ever said they could! I don't know why they're tall, I've questioned that too. I'm a runway model and at 13 years old I stand at 5"3. Other girls are either taller, or around my height, but never shorter. Short people can be considered beautiful, sometimes, I even prefer to be shorter, and find shorter people more prettier.

5'-5" isn't tall. 5'-10" is tall. Like Nicole Kiddman (sp?) is who became with Tom Cruise, at 5'-9" and does not enable her positioned on intense heels. at the same time as requested about her breakup, she suggested, "a minimum of now i will positioned on intense heels back." i'm 6'-a million" and the first lady I married became 5'-10". i do not imagine any lady I have dated or been with for any length of time became any shorter than 5'-8" so not ALL adult men move for short women people as you seem to imagine. I once dated a lady (for some months besides) who became 5'-eleven" tall and wore a women people's length 13 it rather is a similar as my guy's length eleven!
