why teenagers are getting into drugs. Do they think its cool? Its stupid!!! Someone explain to me why. It really bugs me that they are just ruining their lives and their minds.

im 14 and have no interest but most of my friends do them. i just want to understand why. i hate that they do drugs...

i know all about this drug crap being a teen and all. the big deal is they see these guys on tv and their own parents doing drugs. They start talking aobut how they did drugs, when they didn't, and then kids believe there fake stories and really try to do them. its so stupid. im only 13 and one of my friends is pregnant because her and her boyfriend was loaded and did it. its not cool, its some thing kids think its like a new trend in clothes, they don't get the consequences.

Yes I agree drugs are stupid but then again many teens do end up trying it eventually, and I have friends who do this and I don't and personally I can't say I never will, I guess I almost think it is just peer pressure what everyone is doing. Also I would be lying if I didn't say that I have done something bad before, I have drank before and yes gotten drunk and I know it was stupid. From my personal experiance it was almost a spur of the moment thing someone was like "Hey do you want some." and of course they were all older than me so I said yeah. And I do regret it sort of but I can't say I'm never going to do it again. I mean as long as don't abuse it and know that you won't regret it, it's okay. But yeah drugs are stupid and they will kill brain cells but teens will be teens and teens just do drugs you can't change that.

There are so many answers for that its crazy and its on a personal level but my thinking is maybe it is peer pressure and wanting to be cool in front of the kids that are doing the drugs in the first place. Another reason can be abuse and thats what they turn too i guess i can go on and on. You have to also take into consideration that kids don't look into the future because most live for now if u know what i mean.

Some get into drugs because that is what they saw growing up. some simply fall in with the "wrong crowd." Some are trying to leave the pain, even if only for a bit and the "bit" gets to be longer and more often. Being young isn't easy and most have yet to learn how to cope. Too few get any sort of help. All they get is a lot of put downs because they are young and our "society" seems to forget we too were young once.

When I was at school, a lot of my friends were into drugs n drinking n stuff. naturally you do what your friends do, peer pressure. I'm afraid I wasn't smart enough to say no. I was pretty experimental. I tried just about everything. it wasn't until I hit 19 that I reaslised that my life was falling apart because of all the things i was into, it was a bit of an awakening.
All of us have a rebellious streak. No matter how much of a saint we think we are.
Drugs are unfortunately, just another part of modern youth culture. You can't tell somebody not to do drugs. You just have to trust them, they are responsible for themselves and it's up to them to decide wehter or not to do them in the first place, and if and when to stop.

I am a teen myself. I am not into drug, but I know people who are and I think that it is stupid too, but they think that it makes the bad feelings and hurt they have in their life go away, but the only thing that it really does is make thing worse or they feel better only for a few hours then the pain comes back and the only thing that they do in the end is hurt themselves.

I say peer pressure is the main reason, teenagers want to fit in and then with the harder drugs once they have done it once they are hooked and have a hard time getting out.

i know what your going through..i'm 14 and alot of people who used to be really good friends with me just started getting into things such as like drugs, and alchol, and premarital sex..those are things which i chose not to participate in..i don't look down on people who do this i wish that they wouldn't but theres not much you can do so just know that you're not the only one who is against drugs and basically throwing away your life..keep standing up for what is right!

Because the Law says that spanking your children and teaching them values like prayer and taking the 12 commandments out of our courts is teaching them that all sin is alright...
