If it really hurts, I would go to the doctor. You might have strep throat or something else that requires antibiotics. In the meantime, you could try sucking on lozenges or ice cubes. Also, gargling with warm salt water can help. My last suggestion is to purchase some chloroseptic from the drug store. It helps to temporarily numb your throat. Hope you feel better.

gargle with warm salt water, but do not swallow or you will puke.
If it persists, go see a doctor.
If you have fever along witht this or fatigue, go see a doctor.
If you see spots in the back of your throat or your tonsils are enlarged, go see a doctor.
Also, chloraseptic sprayed in the back of the throat may help for temporary sore throat!

Try those:

* Melt 2-3 teaspoons of salt to one glass of water, gurgle the salty water in your throat and on the infected area.
* Cut an onion into strips, squeeze the spicy juice out, add one spoon of honey and drink right away.
* Mix:
o 1 cup of salvia.
o 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar.
o 1-2 tea spoons of sea water.
Gurgle the mixture every 30 minutes to treat a painful throat or streptococcus bacteria. The liquid is not tasty but very helpful.
* Squeeze a fresh lemon, gurgle 3 times a day.
* Blanch hypos leaves and drink or saturate the leaves in olive oil, strain and swallow.
* Mash one ginger root, add 1/3 cup of boiling water and one tablespoon of sugar. Drink when it's slightly warm (can use honey instead of water and eat).
* Mix an uncooked egg yolk, one tablespoon of sugar and one tablespoon of brandy or cognac. Swallow every 15 minutes.
* Cut an onion, put in a cup with a top, soak with honey (2 centimeters over), cover the top and leave for one hour, swallow 1 spoon of the honey every few hours.
* Blanch lemon verbena leaves and drink.
* Cook garlic cloves and dried peeled onion in boiling water until soften and eat.
* Eggnog: Mix 1 cup of hot milk, 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of honey then drink.
* Eat 1 tablespoon of honey several times a day.
*
* Make salvia tea and drink; can add sugar.
* Suck on lemon can also add sugar or honey.
* Drink tea with lemon, can also add sugar or honey.
* Eat black olives.
* Gurgle white cabbage juice.
* Take a clean sock, put salt in and tie the edge, pour arrack on the sock and tie loosely around the throat for as long as you can.
* Put ginger root in a glass of hot water, wait 5-10 minutes and drink. Repeat several times a day.
