You sign up with ebay, get in touch with some distributors and advertise their stuff for slightly higher than what they are selling it for. Some one buys it from you, sends you the money, you send the money to the distributor keeping your profit margin. The distributor doesn't ship what ever you sold to the customer. The customer and eBay get after you. The customer wants his money back that you don't have because you gave it to the distributor. eBay closes your account. The customer and eBay may sue you depending on how much it was. The distributor opens on eBay under a different name. You, the little guy, can't go after anyone. It takes money to go after them.

Sound like a good plan? It happens a lot. Sooner or later everyone gets the shaft on eBay.

It depends on what you want to sell. Ebay offers various services to all who sign up for a sellers account with them. One of the most important of which is the ability to see what a given item sold for in closed auctions. This allows you to estimate how much you might make on a similar item and how much to start the bid at.

They also offer various tips on how to get your item noticed so that it's more likely to sell. If you sign up for a sellers account they'll send you an e-mail with links to all of the information you'll need.

I'll leave you with this:

Like any business it depends on many factors.. I personally make enough to pay all my bills monthly with some left over for savings (live on the beach in So Cal) my neighbor makes many thousands every month on eBay and some make a great deal more...

If you think you can buy wholesale or dropship on ebay and make money I would say its impossiable seeing as the wholesalers and dropshippers themselves sell on ebay for less than you can sell it for.

If you have your own personal items for sale you can make some cash...selling musical instruments and stuff like that are good sellers.

A lot! There is people selling PS3 for 3000. It all depends on how much stuff you put on there. There is no limit to how much someone will buy for something.
