Hiring teens is difficult on the employers because of the legal restrictions placed on employers. Teens can only work so many hours per day and week which makes it difficult to schedule them. Your best bet for employment is in your own business using your skills and working your own hours and setting your own salary. The following books, available from your library, can help you learn more:

Fast Cash for Kids … Bonnie & Noel Drew
Better than a Lemonade Stand … Daryl Bernstein
50 Money Making Ideas for Kids … Lauree & L Allen Burkett
Jobs for Kids … Carol Barkin & Elizabeth James
The Kids’ Business Book … Arlene Erlbach
Making Cents … Elizabeth Wilkinson
Make More Money Than Your Parents … Mike Bundlie and Others
How to Be a Teenage Millionaire … Art Beroff

Stay away from Cash Create and other survey Web sites!

It's a waste of time and will cause you unhappiness.

If you choose to get suckered in and sign up to take surveys and receive free trials considered you were warned. The minute you give them your credit card and personal information you have now opened your computer to unwanted cookies on your hard drive, annoying pop-up windows and if you are on a PC you open your computer to viruses that can wipe you out.

I think that you have to be 15 to get a work permit and then only for part time. Other than that kids are stuck with house cleaning, baby sitting, and lawn mowing for cash. Not exactly fair, but parents always say that fair is relative as they are the parent and you are only the kid. Charge your mom and dad for everything you do.

at 13, probably the only kind of work you can do is babysitting and things of that nature. At 14, Chickfila will hire you but until then you are really out of luck.
