Can you please tell me what is the policy against smoking in public places in your state/country?? (if there is one, that is - don't forget to tell me where you live)

Yes, there is a policy against smoking in the Philippines and it is rarely followed. :( I don't know why people are so stubborn where I live. Here is the site which provides the law for your query:

City of Texarkana, Texas: no smoking in or around public places (largely ignored except inside restaurants)
City of Longview, Texas: no smoking in public places; nearly every place has an ashtray right by the front door, however.

I am in Columbia, Mo and its college so on January 2, 2007 I believe the rule is going to be no smoking in bars, only outside.

I live in Ohio and a state wide smoking ban (law) was just passed. Being a smoker, I'm not pleased about this.

I just moved from Ohio, and they recently made a law where you can NOT smoke in public! How weird. Good, though. It will save a life or two.

In West Virginia it differs from county to county. In the county I live in now, there is no smoking allowed in restaurants (not even bar areas of restaurants), but it's allowed in bars. They recently passed a law in the county that I used to live in for no smoking in restaurants OR bars.

Yes there is. In Malaysia it's illegal to smoke in schools, universities, in public places, in restaurants, in hospitals, in clinics, in offices, in public toilets, in kindergartens, in amusement parks, in shopping malls, there're all whole bunch of places but i can't remember them.

I live in NY. We cant smoke indoors anywhere public.. no bars, no restuarants.. nothing like that. We can smoke outside, in our cars, or in our house.

in the state of ny you cannot smoke in any public buildings or business buildings either. in the restruants there are no smoking section.

yup i live in NY and you cant smoke inside public places, but you can smoke outside
