Ok, I understand the questions you ask are embarassing, personal and all that. I also realize alot of guys might not no an answer but is it neccisary to put "women only" on your questions. I understand that you will probably get the best answer from a women but what if a guy is a doctor or something. I mean, guys have embarassing and personal questions that might be best answered by guys too but we welcome womens opinions openly. In fact alot of girls answer mens health questions.

I'm with you. I don't care about the gender of the person. I care more about the content of the answer. People are just pretentious.

Usually women know a lot about men's health because we have husbands too stubborn to ask the doctor. And I really don't think there are doctors answering questions on here - too many legal liability issues. I know some guys can answer but just look and see how many guys use it as an excuse to hit on the girl asking the question. I've rarely seen a girl hit on a guy who asked an embarrassing question!

It's simple..
You are right - there could be some men who have definite insight to the problem at hand. There are a lot of us ladies who assume that only a woman can understand what cramps, childbirth and PMS feels like. There is also the issue of bleeding ( periods). Unfortunately for men, they really cannot experience these issues therefore most women feel that the question is best answered by a woman...Hope that helps a bit.

It's the numbers game. There might be a guy who has the best answer. But chances are that if I'm asking something about woman's health, I'm more likely to get smart @$$ replies from guys. So it might save me the reading through of nasty answers in exchange for the slight change that I'll scare off that guy who happens to know more than women do about women...
Another reason is that you may get MORE answers from women if you write women only.

Sometimes women are trying to be conservative or just very respectful about some factors women go through that is not exactly "music to the males ears". Most men have a hard time listening to a womens problems, not many wish to hear about a womens cycle. Overall its like a screening process to provent those rude guys to say crude remarks when it is obviously a personal matter that is having them puzzled. Its no big or sexist, just women being over emotional and lack of self-esteem and confidence.

Yea I asked this same question a while back... I think when people choose WHO answers their question they're already close minded. I totally agree with you about the "men being doctors" thing. Women are always complaining about respect and being treated as equals and then they're just as sexist as some male chauvenists out there! This might be kinda odd coming from a woman, but I'm really sick of it myself.
IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION: ASK IT THEN CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE ANSWER. DON'T BE CHOOSY ABOUT WHO ANSWERS UR QUESTION IN THE FIRST PLACE!
btw, here's the question I asked: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao3gPCBl6la42AR._2_oor3sy6IX?qid=20060927200325AA4jYvF

Modesty. Ever hear of it. All females do not like expose their personal lives--so to speak--to the world--when in fact that is exactally what they are doing.
