John Bonham (one of the greatest drummers of all time) died in a very interesting way he drank 16 shots of vodka with a ham roll on the way to a recording session. He continued to drink through the day, he fell asleep at Jimmy Page's (one of the greatest guitar players of all time) house, it's rumored that he had drunk 40 shots that night. During the night he vomited, the alcohol had depressed his central nervous system it did not stimulate the normal reflexes and he died of asphyxiation. He was discovered by Led Zeppelin's tour manger and John Paul Jones, the bass player not the navy admiral whom I'm supposedly related to.
No other drugs were found in his system, it is surprising that he didn't die of alcohol poisoning though.

The bests:
Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Elvis, Shannon Hoon (from Blind Melon), Layne Staley (that beautiful man from Alice in Chains) Brad from Sublime.
Anyone as creative as these people have to be such tortured souls. It's so sad they had to die. But they did.
