If you suppress your anger long enough, then yes, that built up anger can put stress on your body. One example is that you can get stomach ulcers. Some people actually do get sick because their bodies are so run down from holding in the anger for so long that the body cannot fight off disease as well. Everyone should have a way to get rid of their anger, safely of course. Some people do well with writing about the experience in a journal. This helps them to get it all out and sort out their emotions rather than bottle it all up inside.

Yes but acting on it can be worse than getting sick. One should learn how to deal with anger. Read the Book the Anger Diet. I forget the Authors name. It is an amazing book on how to understand and let go of any and all types of anger. Also read the Bhagavad-Gita As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada It explains how anger develops and how to end all Lust, greed, anger etc. go to stephen-knapp.c site for help on all levels with this and universal truths as well

I'm personaly convinced this is how cancer happens. Or, at least ulcers.
Negative feelings have a definite effects on the body. Upset stomach, headaches -- definately.
I honestly believe that in the long term, it causes cancer. At least, that's what i'm hoping for.
Being miserable for so long just makes every day worse.
Honestly, if you want to live longer and happier, you've got to find a release for that stress and anger. Exercise and **** like that.
Good luck and do what you want to do.

When people supress anger, it can have negative consequences. I have a tendency to hold in my anger, and when I'm especially mad and holding in my anger, I've found that I get terrible stomach aches. I don't know...nothing bad has ever happened from it yet, but I know it's not a good thing to do.

Yes. Anger raises the blood pressure, among other things, which can lead to heart disease over time.

Yes. Anger causes your blood pressure to rise, therefore weakening your immune system. Your body is releasing so much adrenaline, and your blood is flowing so quickly, that it can't fight disease as well.
