When you see people on the street and they ask for change do you help them out or tell them no? I try to give them whatever change I have. If I can spare more I will.

Yes I do if I have the ability to give them the help they require, wether it be in a practical or monetary way help if it is in my power to do it, I do. Of course there are some things that are out of my control now and I am limited but I have done so many times, while, I was able to, do things to help people even strangers and those who did not appreciate or acknowledge my help, These days I am on the other side and the one who is in need of help, yet there is none for me, but I do realise that now we are living in much harder times and people do have their own problems which need attention.

I think that this is a very difficult one. I think that you should give money to those less fortunate. The problem comes when there is a possibility that the money is then spent on drink or drugs. If they overdose are you responsible because you enabled them to do so. I think that maybe it is better to buy provisions such as food and give that.
I would be interested in what others thought of giving food instead.

No. I do not respond to panhandlers. I do make sure I donate as much as I can without injury to myself, by donating to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
