2400 / 2 = 1200
1200 / 2 = 600
600 / 2 = 300
300 / 2 = 150
150 / 2 = 75
75 / 3 = 25
25 / 5 = 5
5 / 5 = 1
2,400 = 2^5 * 3 * 5^2

With big numbers, break it down into smaller or easier ones first then prime factor each of the smaller/easier ones, finally multiplying all the factors back together:
2400
= (24) * (100)
= (8 * 3) * (10 * 10)
= (2 * 2 * 2 * 3) * (2 * 5 * 2 * 5)
= (2^3 * 3) * (2^2 * 5^2)
= 2^5 * 3 * 5^2

I'd make life easy by noting the 00 on the end. That means that 100 is a factor.
So, factor 100 = 25x4=5^2x2^2
Now do the 24 = 6x4=3x2^3
Put it together:
2400 = 2^5 x 3 x 5^2
check
32 x 3 x 25 = 2400 , ok...

2400 is 24 times 100 so
the factorization of 24 is 2 to the third power times 3.
the factorization of 100 is 2 squared times 5 squared.
The product of these is our solution.
It is 2 to the fifth power times 3 times 5 squared.
Have a great evening...
