My husbands ex kicked his daughter out of the home she is 16 they live in az we live in texas and she is now with us . how do we stop her child support? we don not need custody just want to stop the amnt of child support he is sending.

he needs to ask for an amendment. he needs to show that his daughter is now living with him and then they may make the mother pay support.

If he is on SSI or SSDI, it can be garnished for back support or if he gets back pay it can be taken out of it. If he get SSDI, you can go to social security and file a claim (he should have did it when he filed) and be named as the payee for the kids and you could get an amount up to half of what he gets every month, but it will not affect the amount he gets. If it is SSI then you can't make a claim. There is no family benefits for SSI. It is for low income disabled that does not have enough credits in to get SSDI. He might have to pay a token amount out of it (say $10 a month for each child), but more than likely he will get out of paying anything.

you have to contact the court system and tell them the mom kicked her out so you do not need to send the support any more. Talk to a lawyer as well and do what he says. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

You have to go get custedy ov her and go back to court and gat it court issued? My hubbys a cop here in Az
