It's probably a 12 ft roll, and that would make the carpet about $2.63/sq yd. You have 44 sq. yds of floor, so about $115.00. But most likely you will have to by 36 lineal feet, ( two 18' pieces) and that is closer to $125.00

Do find out if this includes padding and/or labor.

Other standard carpet roll widths are 13'6" and 15' wide. This would make it an even better price per sq ft.

Actually carpet and most sheet goods come in standard widths, soa room that is 18 feet wide will need 44 feet (45 or 46 for good measure) so the carpet can be seam taped together and make your rooms width. You'll have extra carpet this way, but it will fit, IF the only way to get the carpet is off the roll in linear feet. However, if the direction of the carpet doesn't matter, that is the pattern or weave will look the same no matter what direction it runs, then consider buying carpet by the square yard. Your room is 18x22 or 396 square feet, you divide that by 9 and you'll get 44, which is the total square yards of the room. So, you will need 34 linear feet to make up 45 square yards. That's 12 x 34 = 408 divided by 9 = 45. One of the best things to do is to talk to a carpet place that will install the carpet for you, they can help with the right amount of carpet for your application and know how to match it and use only the amount of carpet you need.

You're halfway there. Are you sure its not 3.50 a sq yd? thats a lot for a sq ft. The roll of carpet will probably be 6', 12' or 15'. More than likely it is 12', so you would need 2 - 18' pieces =36LF which would leave you witha seam down the center for 22'. You would have a 2' by 18' piece of scrap. That would only be about 29 cents a sq. ft which is extremely cheap and unordinary. you may want to double check the pricing

Carpet is sold in standard widths. I am not sure but something like 10 12 15 18 foot widths. So if you buy 18 foot width you will need 22 linear foot off the roll. If carpet you buy is say 18.5 foot you still need 22 linear foot. You will need to trim the edge to fit.

What is the width of the roll of the carpet? The carpet comes on a standard width roll, so some idiot decided to be easy and give out a LF price, instead of a SF or SY. Without knowing the width of the roll, no one can compute the price. Sorry.
