I say yes because lets say your purse has your ipod in it and a hairbrush and gum and your wallet and your cell phone.... you might need those things @ school and if you just bring your backpack then you would need to take it all out of your purse... put it into your backpack....then put it back into your purse!! Plus what if you go somewhere after school??? Only you can decide if you need to bring your purse to school or not!! I think girls should be able to wear purses because girls have special things they might need at anytime of the day.

Well, I guess I need to know why there is even an issue about this. Why wouldnt they be allowed to have a purse at school?

I'm guessing this isn't very young girls.
Older girls need to carry personal items that wouldn't fit in their pockets--plus, a lot of girls clothing doesn't have pockets.

i see some 4th graders doing it & i think it's a distraction. older girls may need to do it to discretely carry their monthly products. other than that, it's another pain-in-the-butt thing to keep track of.

I think that it is fine. Especially if they need to carry an inhalor or something in it.
