My homework is to write this in spanish, but she like completely never taught us this:
If i'm the president, I would build free public gyms for communities. If i can control the money in the government, I would distribute some to the elderly for them to buy medicine. Also, I would encourage the citizens to plant more trees. I would also help the evironment by ristricting air pollution. If the citizens demand a nicer environment, I would build more parks in the nature. I would also limit the buying and selling of SUVs.

another question: what's the conditional tense?

ahh, i'm so confused. I would deeply appreciate it if you can translate that for me...

Si soy el presidente, construiría los gyms públicos libres para las comunidades. Si puedo controlar el dinero en el gobierno, distribuiría alguno a los ancianos para que compren medicina. También, animaría a ciudadanos que plantaran más árboles. También ayudaría al evironment ristricting la contaminación atmosférica. So sorry you are so confused! As one poster
said, the conditional is used 2 ways:
First, to represent "would" in indirect speech:
I said I would go = Dije que yo iría.
Second, to represent the conclusion in an
"if, then" clause.
For example: If we ask him, would he tell us?
That's what your paragraph is all about:
If....., I would... .
Finally, before I translate the paragraph,
I want to point out that the opening if clause
is a contrary to fact statement, so it cannot
be translated Si yo soy presidente. One must
use the subjunctive in constructions like this!

Obviously, this paragraph's purpose is to get you to practice with using the correct verb for "I would suchandsuch" that is what conditional is. It's not a certainty, it's something that might happen at some point in the future. It's also represented with "If"..."if I can blahdeeblah"

For example, "I build" is construyo, and "I would build" is construiría. Look in your text book!!!
