It depends on the type of motor. A dc motor may be used as a generator provided it is either a permanent magnet type or has sufficient residual magnetism in the iron to start off the generation.

Nothing happens except you have created friction and dissipated heat.
if order for a motor to respond you have to have a magnetic field creation.
