Under the current BCS system, it certainly appears USC is on their way for the title. Since the season started with the BCS system, I wouldn't change it now. #1 and #2 should play to determine who the champion is.

That said, some conferences are weaker than others. The SEC is such a tough and competitive conference, nearly anyone is able to compete with a ranked team. Just look at UGA, Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc that were all ranked in the top 10 to fall to another SEC team. I personally favor a playoff system where any undefeated team and each of the conference champions enter into a win/lose bracket. That way it is "put up or shut up" time and no more controversy about which conferences tend to be more favored.

This is a tough question based on the fact I am biased towards a playoff system to discover the national championship.
USC did an amazing job rebounding from a loss from Oregon State and beat a number 6 Notre dame team pretty handily.
If USC beats UCLA then USC has done enough on the schedule to warrant a bid into the Championship game based on other teams.

something can take position, in spite of the indisputable fact that the potential for USC taking section in for a championship are preeeeettty low. perhaps if France takes decrease back the Louisiana purchase, there's a set of football classes extraordinarily disbanding, and universal regulations of the universe take a siesta USC ought to probable have a shot... perhaps.

Yes they should. Michigan had there chance and BLUE it. Florida never plays anybody tougher than a High School team. after that you got N.D. and look what happens when a good team plays them. then it really gets weak. so let it been said that USC and Ohio State is the best match up you have right now.

Michigan should. USC beat Notre Dame by only 20 points on USC's home field. Michigan beat Notre Dame by 26 points at Notre Dame.

No. Michigan should. But somehow I doubt that they will. The BCS a sham if the Wolverines don't play for the national title, but, Pete Carroll seems to rule the world, so, what can ya do :)...
