b + g = 27 and g = b + 3
Replacing g with b+3 in the first equation, we get
b + b + 3 = 27
Combine like terms
2b + 3 = 27
Subtract 3 from each side
2b = 24
Divide both sides by 2
b = 12 boys
Since there are 3 more girls than boys, we add 3 to 12.
g = 12+3 = 15 girls

Let the number of boys be b.
Let the number og girls be g.

b + g = 27 --- (1)
b + 3 = g --- (2)

Substi. (2) into (1).
b + (b + 3) = 27
2b = 24
b = 12

Substi. b = 12 into (2).
12 + 3 = g
g = 15

There are 15 girls and 12 boys in the class.
