World of Warcraft is a 15 dollars a month members fee.Plus after buying the game.So you figure 15 bucks a month for a year thats 180 dollars for a year.So in a sense yea he is right

The CD that you have to buy to start the game will cost some around $80 I saw at Target. Then it is just $15 dollars a month for 1 computer. If you don't pay you are cut off and your characters are erased. Or if you cancel the subscription it is erased. So you can't sell it like you can in Runescape.

I think it's only 20 bucks for the game, and you get a 1 month subscription to WOW to test it out. If you like the game, you can continue to pay 15 bucks a month for as long as you want to continue to play the game.
If you decide that you don't like the game, you just don't pay and you just won't be able to log in. But your character will not be erased or deleted. It will still be there when you decide to pay again. I think you have to ask blizzard to restore your character, or maybe as soon as you pay, your character will be there. Not sure which one it is, but I do know that Blizzard will not erase or delete your character.

Currently it is $20 to buy the game and $14.99 a month to play. The person that told you that is someone you shouldn't listen to ever again. If they will lie about something this irrelivant imagine what else they will lie about.
